His background includes the academic analysis of data and the application of analytical techniques for service quality and infrastructure performance management in various commercial settings. Simon's professional interests are primarily focussed on explaining the benefits of data science to new organisations and establishing projects to allow these benefits to be gained.

Andrew is one of the founding Directors of EdburyDaley a specialist recruitment consultancy firm specialising in a series of niche markets. His specific focus is on Spend Management and Procurement technology which includes payment systems, strategic sourcing applications and big data analytics. He advises his clients on market leading talent attraction and recruitment strategies with a specific focus on areas where there is a clear skills shortage. His interest in the big data market and the evolution of the professional skill base led him to get involved with the Data Science Foundation to which he acts as an adviser on career and recruitment related issues. He is supporting the development of the Data Science Foundation’s bespoke recruitment service due to be launched in 2017.
