We are building a community of people who want to do good with data, who understand the importance of good decision making and how decisions impact society. Our members work hard to improve their decision making and strive to help others to make better decisions. We believe that people who consistently make good decisions will have a positive impact on the communities in which they operate, and will ultimately become more successful and more fulfilled as a result. We are encouraging members to stop focusing on the short-term goals and to consider long-term objectives.
The steering group meets regularly to discuss issues relating to Big Data and the Data Science Industry and Foundation. If big data and the data science industry is to thrive, it will do so as the result of the dedication of the educational establishment. The abilities of universities to draw in talented students and to develop the skills they need to operate in the highly technical and challenging business environments of tomorrow is fundamental to the industry's success. The Data Science Foundation works closely with universities and reserves places on the Foundation's Steering Committee for leading academics.
